Air pollution comes from many different sources within an airport environment such as power plants, passenger and airport vehicles, buses, construction equipment, airfield equipment, and aircraft. Air pollution can threaten the health of human beings, trees, lakes, crops, and animals, as well as damage the ozone layer and buildings, and can cause haze, reducing visibility.
The Division of Aviation seeks to reduce adverse impacts on the atmosphere and indoor air quality through the following initiatives:
Electrification of Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Air Emissions Initiatives through Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Cell Phone Waiting Lot
Greenhouse Gas Inventory
PHL Ground Transportation Improvements
