Terminal A-East Baggage Claim

Just outside of Philadelphia’s city limits, not far from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), is Tinicum School located in Essington, PA. Tinicum School is part of the Interboro public school district and serves Grades 1-8.

As a neighbor of Tinicum School, the Airport invited students to participate in the year-long celebration commemorating PHL’s 75 years of commercial air service. Students in grades 2-8, have created collages that feature a selection of historical and recent photographs of PHL. Through their artistry, the students have used their creative talents and re-imagined the Airport to include colorful terminals and roadways and airplanes of all sizes – some, are even larger than the terminal itself.

Special thanks to Tinicum School’s Principal Fanning, art teacher Mr. Mitch, and to the student artists who participated in this project.
