Youth Art Gallery, between Terminals D and E
May 8, 2000 - July 7, 2000

From 1994 through 1996, at the invitation of the Israeli Ministry of Education, teacher Maureen Kushner visited 24 Israeli schools from Northern Galilee to Southern Negev, where she organized art classes and workshops for the students. Her mission was to create a trusting environment for a culturally diverse group of children - Jewish, Arab, Druze, Bedouin, as well as immigrant children from Ethiopia and Russia. Kushner's unique teaching method - of combining art, word association, and humor was developed to accentuate the children's universal hope for peace.

This exhibition of 40 paintings is a small sampling of the artwork that was created by the Israeli students. It is the children's hope that their art will help to destroy hate and fear forever.
