Between Terminals B and  C

October 31, 2005 - May 31, 2006

Lanny Bergner is known for making abstract sculptures inspired by natural forms. Yet interestingly, his primary medium is wire and industrially produced metal screening. It is this odd juxtaposition of organic forms and manufactured materials that is seen throughout his work. Like nature, Bergner's sculptures appear simple and beautiful. But, upon closer examination, the structural complexities, patterns, and processes are revealed. His abstract forms are both primitive and futuristic. They seem to have evolved naturally like a pod, cocoon, or cells. Yet they retain a sense of having generated themselves, appearing otherworldly like curious scientific specimens.
