Philadelphia sculptor Fritz Dietel creates large-scale abstract forms in wood. His assembled sculptures are singular, simplified forms evocative of nature's symmetry and sinuous growth. Dietel's aesthetic is also about the process evidenced by his ability to bend and shape the wood into such graceful forms. The materials and techniques are commanding components of each sculpture but it is the fluidity and simplicity of the finished form that ultimately defines the artist's work.
