Miniature Chairs: Modern Classics, 1820 – 1998 Page Content From the Collection of Vitra Design Museum Terminal C/D The internationally renowned Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany, has recreated in miniature classics of 19th and 20th century chair designs. The selected chairs were originally designed as an industrial product and as a work of art—each considered visionary designs of their time. Each scale model is precisely crafted to replicate the original full-size chair. The miniature chairs have been fabricated by master model makers who have faithfully reproduced every detail including materials, color schemes, finishes, and construction techniques, down to millimeter screws that actually work. Each of the models are made by hand with specially developed miniature tools, machines, and assembling jigs to ensure an exact duplication.
