The Mummers Museum, founded in 1976, is dedicated to the preservation of Mummer history through its collection of costumes, memorabilia, and photographs.

Every New Year's Day, since January 1st, 1901, about 10,000 Philadelphians march more than 2 miles up Broad Street dressed in extravagant and whimsical costumes for the annual Mummers Parade-a 10 hour pageant that symbolizes the ushering in of the new year.
