Nami Yamamoto: Primordial Soup Terminal E |
Philadelphia artist Nami Yamamoto
has been re-creating the series Primordial Soup for several years. Yamamoto's
colorful, flat, cutout shapes are inspired by bubble formations-from a simple
circle to complex intersecting orbs. The carefully composed abstraction
features 430 bubble-like elements. Some hover off of the wall balanced on pins
of varying lengths while others are rhythmically scattered on the floor.
Isolated or densely overlapping, the various forms are seemingly synergetic
thriving only en masse.
