Philadelphia ceramist Jared Jaffe creates
functional teapots using a combination of images found in nature. He has a
distinctive visual vocabulary where he assembles organic elements to create
hybrid teapot forms: a vine-like stem becomes a handle, a pumpkin shapes the
body, a banana is a spout, or a small fruit serves as the lid. The various
natural parts are joined together to create unique teapots where form and
function are in harmony.
