Philadelphia artist Jon Clark has been working with glass for over 25 years. For this particular series titled Rendezvous, Clark was inspired by a unique collection of botanical study forms at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Hand-made in glass, the study forms are detailed replicas of flowers, enlarged plant parts, and specimen cross-sections created for botanical research. Clark's glass installation emphasizes what is already found in nature. They are simple, primordial forms like flower elements and obscure underwater specimens displayed as a collection seemingly frozen and preserved.
