Gift of Life Donor Program, Philadelphia:

Third Annual Delaware Valley Poster Contest

Youth Art Gallery, between Terminals D and E
October 15, 2002 - January 20, 2003

Founded in 1974, The Gift of Life Donor Program, Philadelphia, is a non-profit organ and tissue transplant network serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Gift of Life is the most active of 59 federally designated organ donation programs within the United States. For more than 28 years, Gift of Life has coordinated the recovery and allocation of 16,500 organs and tens of thousands of tissue transplants to men, women, and children in the tri-state area. The program is also the primary source for donor information in the region and conducts hundreds of community and professional educational events each year.

In 2000, Gift of Life initiated a high school poster contest to increase the awareness of organ donation among our youth. In 2002, over 600 entries were submitted to the contest. This exhibition is a small sampling of the artwork created to convey the importance of organ donation.
