National Chemistry Society:Youth Art Poster Contest

Youth Art Gallery between Terminal D and E
November 2001 – April 24, 2002

This exhibition features award-winning artwork created for the 12th Annual Chemistry Poster Contest sponsored by the Philadelphia Section of The American Chemical Society.  Entries are submitted in 3 grade categories and judged on their artistic merit, creativity, and originality in illustrating this year's theme: "Art and Chemistry."

Students from Philadelphia and the surrounding counties of Bucks, Burlington, Camden, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery were invited to participate. Students were encouraged to think about chemistry and how it effects our everyday lives. Chemistry is evident when leaves turn colors, in food as it is cooked, and in our bodies as we breathe. This exhibition is a small sampling of the creative response to the subject of chemistry and its encompassing effect on our world.

Special thanks to Dr. Thomas Straub, Professor, La Salle University, Philadelphia, and Chairman of the National Chemistry Week Poster Contest.
