Vitra is an internationally recognized company that manufactures furniture. All Vitra products are created in cooperation with renowned designers, architects, and artists from around the world. In 1987, Vitra launched a new project called Vitra Edition. Its goal was to provide increased opportunity for experimentation in furniture design. Many of Vitra's chairs are represented in museum collections worldwide including the Philadelphia Museum of Art; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, New York; Denver Museum of Art; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
