Philadelphia area milliner Milica Schiavio creates her unique collection of hats as a form of self-expression. She has described her designs as “eye-catching conversation pieces intended to captivate and stand out in the crowd.” Often using found objects like silk flowers, feathers, plastic fruit -- even egg shells, maps, and drink ware -- Schiavio has a very bold yet playful approach towards millinery. She has transformed the utilitarian hat into a sculptural object.

Her fanciful and whimsical narratives are a decorative delight. Schiavio hopes to “infuse anyone who wears her hats with light, joy, and vivacity.” And it’s especially important to Schiavio that her hats inspire fun and enliven the people who wear them.
