The
City of Philadelphia, Division of Aviation is in the process of updating the
Federal Aviation Regulation Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study for the
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The current Noise Exposure Maps (NEM)
and Noise Compatibility Program (NCP) that are the result of a Part 150 Study
were approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on May 20, 2003.
The original study documented, at the time, the existing (2002) and
forecast (2006) noise impacts for the communities surrounding PHL. This update
will re-evaluate the previous findings and determine if there are any changes
or increases in noise impacts. The study will again document the existing level
of noise exposure, as well as those forecasted to occur within the next five
years.
