Job Seekers Can Find A Career at
Philadelphia International Airport New Community Service
Office hosts Airport Job Fair Philadelphia - A major international airport
offers an interesting variety of exciting job and career opportunities, and the
public is invited to find out more about "jobs at the airport" at the
Philadelphia International Job Fair on March 19th. The Job Fair takes place 11
a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Airport Community Service Office in the Mercy Eastwick
Medical Arts Building, 2801 Island Avenue.
Representatives from the
City of Philadelphia, airlines, Transportation Security Administration, Airport
retail concessions and others will be available to explain opportunities with
their respective companies and agencies and answer questions. More than 200
companies employ 34,000 workers in airport-related jobs, making the Airport one
of the region's largest employers.
"The Airport offers many different
job opportunities, and the Job Fair is the perfect place to find out what kinds
of jobs are available and how to apply for them," noted Rina Cutler, Deputy
Mayor for Transportation and Public Utilities.
The Community Service
Office is accessible to the public and ample free parking is available. The
Community Service Office, located in Suite 13 in the Mercy Eastwick Medical
Arts Building, is staffed Monday thru Friday during regular business hours.
The office is stocked with a variety of Airport informational
materials and Airport representatives are available to answer questions and
assist in facilitating airport-related inquiries. The Airport Noise Office is
also located there, and individuals with noise-related concerns can ask to
speak to the Noise Officer.
The Philadelphia Airport System is owned and operated by the City of
Philadelphia and is composed of Philadelphia International Airport and
Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The Airport System is a self-sustaining entity
that operates without the use of local tax dollars. It is one of the largest
economic engines in Pennsylvania, generating an estimated $14 billion in
spending to the regional economy and employing a workforce of nearly
34,000.
