Bicycle Access & Parking

Directions
 
Philadelphia International Airport is located less than ten miles from Center City Philadelphia. It is accessible to many “bicycle-friendly” roads and trails, including the East Coast Greenway/Pennsylvania Bicycle Route E.
 
To the Airport:
 
From the Platt Bridge (PA 291):
1.    Follow PA 291 West (Platt Bridge, right on Island Ave., left on Bartram Ave.)
2.    Turn left at Industrial Highway, then follow the directions below.
 
From Passyunk Ave.:
1.    Take Passyunk Ave. west to Essington Ave. south
2.    Turn right on Bartram Ave.
3.    Turn left at Industrial Highway, then follow the directions below.
 
From Southwest Philadelphia:
1.    Follow Cobbs Creek Trail
Continue on Island Ave.
2.    Turn right on Bartram Ave.
3.    Turn left at Industrial Highway, then follow the directions below.
 
From Tinicum Township:
1.    Follow Industrial Highway East, then follow the directions below.
 
At the Airport:
1.    Go east on Industrial Highway toward Philadelphia International Airport.
2.    Follow signs for Arriving Flights.
3.    At the second traffic light, stay right and follow blue signs for Commercial Vehicles.
4.    Pass through the gate and follow green bicycle path signs to the parking areas.
 
Note: Bicycles access commercial roadways in some areas; please take caution when using these roadways.
 
Parking:
 
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) has made bicycle racks available in several locations throughout the terminal complex for employees and passengers to use.
 
Bicycles left unattended must be secured to the racks at all times. Parking is restricted to 72 hours. Bicycles, locks, and other items remaining longer than 72 hours may be removed from the area. For additional information, contact PHL at (215) 937-6937.
 
Passengers and employees may use bicycle racks available at:
1. Terminal A-West , near the taxi holding lot
2. Terminal B-C, near the Marriott Hotel
3. Terminals D-E, on the Commercial Vehicles Road adjacent to the SEPTA Regional Rail Airport Terminal C-D Station
 
Airport employees may also use bicycle racks at the Employee Parking Shuttle stop (behind Wawa) .After parking and locking your bicycle, use the Employee Parking Shuttle to reach the terminals.
 

Pedal to PHL Program
Traveling by bicycle can save money and improve health; many places are very accessible by bike in the City of Philadelphia, including the Airport.
 
The Pedal to PHL Program is an initiative under the Airport's Environmental Stewardship Program.
