  • Where can I find a particular airline, flight number and status?
    • Flight information can be found under Flight Information at the top of the page. Flight information can also be obtained by contacting your airline directly (toll-free numbers are listed under Airlines) or by calling 1-800-PHL-GATE (1-800-745-4283).

  • Is public transportation available from the Airport to downtown Philadelphia?
    •  Yes. The SEPTA Airport Regional Rail Line runs every 30 minutes between the Airport and Center City. Trains operate from Center City to the Airport between 4:25 AM and 11:25 PM, and from the Airport to Center City from 5:07 AM to 12:07 AM. The Airport Line stops at Terminals A-East, B, C/D, E (Terminal F passengers board/exit at Terminal E). Other stops on the route are Eastwick, University City, 30th Street (Amtrak), Suburban and Jefferson (Market East). The one-way fare to Center City is $8.00 cash only ($1.00 additional for connections to other SEPTA Regional Rail Lines). Purchase an Individual Independence Pass from the conductor for $12.00 or a Family Independence Pass (good for one family of up to 5 people traveling together) for $29.00. Both provide unlimited travel on SEPTA buses, trolleys, subways and Regional Rail for one whole day.Airport Regional Rail Line Schedule

      SEPTA bus service is available on the Routes 37 (to/from South Philadelphia), 108 (69th Street Transportation Center) and 115 (to/from Suburban Square in Ardmore). Bus fare costs $2.25; transfers are $1.00 (exact fare, cash only). SEPTA buses board at Zone 1 outside the baggage claim at Terminals A-East, B, C, D and E (Terminal F passengers board/exit at Terminal E).   • What are my parking options at the Airport?
      Parking is available in the Garages (A-East, A-West, B, C, D, E and F for hourly and long-term parking), Short-Term parking (1 hour or less), and at the Economy Parking Lot (daily and long-term parking). The Garages and Short-Term parking can be accessed by following the Arriving Flights Roadway. The Economy Lot can be accessed from Island and Penrose avenues and also by following the Departing Flights Road past Terminal F (take the first exit and follow the signs to Economy Parking). Garage parking is restricted to vehicles not exceeding 6 feet in height. Vehicles exceeding the height limit must park in the Economy Lot. Parking rates can be found in the Directions and Parkingsection of this website. Most major credit cards are accepted at the toll booths in the garages and Economy Lot. If assistance is needed in any of the parking facilities, the Philadelphia Parking Authority can be contacted from courtesy phones.
  • How early should I arrive before my flight?
    • Passengers should arrive at the Airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure of a domestic flight and 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure of an international flight.
  • Can I meet someone or escort them to the gate?
    • Only passengers with tickets to travel on that day are permitted past security checkpoints to the gate areas. Those wishing to meet someone in the terminal building can wait in the areas just before the checkpoints, or meet in the baggage claim areas. Please contact your airline if you have special circumstances regarding gate access.
  • Is it still possible to drop off and pick up someone in front of a terminal?
    • Yes, vehicles are permitted to pull up curbside, but ONLY for ACTIVE loading and unloading. Vehicles left unattended at the curb will be towed.
  • Is there an area where I can wait in my car to pick up someone at the Airport?
    • Philadelphia International Airport offers a Cell Phone Waiting Lot that is easily accessible from both I-95 and Route 291 and provides free waiting on Airport property. The lot features space for 150 vehicles, new lighting for a safe waiting area, easy-to-follow directional signage, and is a one-minute drive to the baggage claim areas. Drivers must stay with their vehicles while waiting in the lot.

      From I-95: Exit at Philadelphia International Airport, enter the Airport on the Arriving Flights road and follow the signs for the Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

      From Route 291: Follow the signs to Philadelphia International Airport, take the Arriving Flights roadway and follow the signs to the Cell Phone Waiting Lot.

  • Can I bring liquids in my carry-ons?
    • Liquids and gels in containers 3.4 ounces or less are permitted in carry-ons. The containers must be placed in clear plastic zip-top bags size 1 quart or smaller and presented for inspection at the security checkpoint. Plastic bags are limited to one per passenger.  Liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces must be placed in checked luggage. Some exceptions are made for prescription and over-the-counter medications, baby formula, breast milk, and other medical necessities. For more detailed information, visit the TSA website.
      NOTE: beverages, yogurt and other liquids and gels can be purchased in the secure area and taken aboard the plane.
  • Can I bring a laptop, CD player or electronic hand-held game in my carry-on?
    • Laptops, CD players and electronic hand-held games are permitted in carry-ons. Laptops must be removed from bags, placed in a plastic bin and sent through the X-ray machine.
  • What are the weight/size restrictions on checked and carry-on luggage?
    • Contact your airline for its policies on checked and carry-on luggage. This information can be found on the airline's website.
  • Is there assistance for minors traveling alone?
    • To obtain assistance for minors traveling alone, please contact your airline.
  • Does the Airport have storage lockers?
    • No. The Airport does not provide stored luggage facilities.
  • Do I need to go through security to travel from one terminal to another?
    • If you are in the post-security checkpoint area, you can connect to any terminal without having to go in and out of security a second time. There is also a free shuttle bus that operates secure side between Terminal F and Terminal C and Terminal A-East.
  • Do I need to go through security to reach my connecting flight after leaving the Customs area?
    • Yes, you will need to go through security to reach your connecting flight after leaving the Customs area.
  • What is the easiest way to travel between Terminal F and Terminals A-West, B, C and D?
    • Free shuttle bus service is available at Terminal F, Gate F-14, to Gate C-16 (Terminals C,D and B) and Gate A-1 (Terminals A-East and A-West). Buses at C-16 and A-1 provide service to Terminal F only.
  • Are there facilities and services for passengers with disabilities?
    • The airport has a variety of accessible services and facilities that are available to travelers with disabilities. Detailed information on services for travelers with disabilities can be found in the Getting Aroung Guide.
      Travelers or families of passengers with disabilities and medical conditions may call TSA Cares toll free at 1-855-787-2227 prior to traveling with questions about screening policies, procedures and what to expect at the security checkpoint. The hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. EST, excluding federal holidays. TSA recommends that passengers call approximately 72 hours ahead of travel.
      Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) has collaborated with autism specialists, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA), The Gray Center, and participating airlines at PHL to develop the Airport Autism Access Program. This Program provides opportunities for children with autism and their families to become familiar with traveling through PHL, and includes Social Stories™ by Carol Gray and a simulated airport experience.   • Does the Airport offer business services to travelers?
    • The UPS Store, located on the Terminal A/B walkway, offers copying, faxing, shipping, notary public and related services for the business traveler as well as computers with Internet access. Data ports are located in every terminal. The Airport provides free wireless Internet access. The Airport Marriott, which is accessed via the Terminal B pedestrian bridge, has data ports available for public use. Travelex on the A/B walkway offers cash checking, money orders and other financial services.
  • Does the Airport offer Wireless Internet access?
    • The Airport offers free Wireless Internet access to everyone, every day. To utilize this service, users must have a computer with built-in Wi-Fi technology or an 802.11b network interface card.
  • What food, beverage and retail shops are available in the Airport?

    • The Airport’s award-winning food, beverage and retail program offers more than 160 national brand and popular local shops and restaurants selling a variety of quality food and merchandise at competitive street prices. Whether it’s fast food or fine dining, Philadelphia souvenirs or upscale clothing and jewelry, the Airport offers food, beverage and retail options for all travelers.   • How can I page someone?
    • If you need to page someone in the Airport, call 215-937-6937 and ask to have your party paged. Passengers and visitors at the Airport who wish to page someone can call 6937 from a white courtesy phone. In addition to audio paging, the Airport provides visual paging on LED monitors throughout the Airport.
  • Where are the car rental agencies?
    • Passengers with rental car reservations should take the appropriate rental car company shuttle departing from Zone 2 outside the baggage claim area. For passengers without rental car reservations, courtesy phones for each rental car company are available in each of the baggage claim areas.   • Does the Airport have a Lost and Found?
    • Yes. To contact Lost and Found dial 215-937-6888 or e-mail lostandfound@phl.org. If something was lost aboard an aircraft or in a gate area or baggage claim area, you should also check with the airline. Items that are left at the security checkpoints are turned over to the Transportation Security Administration Lost & Found at the Airport. Hours of operation are daily, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.   • Does the Airport have smoking areas?
    • Smoking is NOT permitted in the Airport.
  • Are restrooms accessible to persons with disabilities?

    • The Airport offers restroom facilities accessible to those with disabilities. In addition, companion care restrooms are located throughout the Airport.

  • Does the Airport have pet relief areas?
      The Airport provides 7 pet relief areas ranging in size from 250 to 600 square feet. The fenced-in facilities consist of a 4-inch deep mulch surface, biodegradable pet waste bag dispenser and receptacle, bench, faux hydrant and dog paw print. The areas are located on the Departures Road between Terminals A-West and A-East as well as Terminal B/C Ticketing and the Airport Communications Center; adjacent to Terminal E and Terminal F; on the Arrivals Road adjacent to Terminal A-East bag claim; on the Commercial Vehicle Road (south side of bag claim nearest to SEPTA train platform) at Terminal B bag claim and Terminal E bag claim.
  • Does the Airport have an observation deck?
    • Although there is no designated area for an observation deck at the Airport, passengers have the opportunity to view the airfield from various locations throughout the Airport's seven terminals. Flights that are arriving and departing on the Airport's runways can be seen from various gates past each terminal's security checkpoint.
  • Does the Airport have publications available to the general public?
    • Yes. The Airport has several publications that are available free to the general public. To request any of these publications, you can e-mail us at contactPHL@phl.org. Please indicate the title of the publication you would like to receive and include a mailing address where they can be forwarded. Many of our brochures and publications such as the Airport Information Guide. are also available on this website as PDF files which can be viewed online or downloaded and printed.
  • How can I apply for a job at the Airport?
    • To apply for a job with Airport food and retail shops, airlines, rental car agencies, Transportation Security Administration or other federal agencies, visit  Jobs@PHL Airport.   • Does the Airport offer tours?
    • Yes, the Airport offers tours to groups of at least 10 and no more than 20 individuals, from 3rd grade on up. Contact the Airport tour coordinator at 215-937-5458 for more information.
  • Does the Airport offer "Fear of Flying" classes?
    • The Airport does not offer "Fear of Flying" classes. There are a number of online teleseminars and courses offered on the subject. These can be found through a variety of search engines.

  • Does the Airport offer a facility where one can lie down and take a nap before boarding their flight?
    • Minute Suites, located on the Terminal A/B walkway past-security, offers private suites for an hourly fee that include a sofa, a workstation and TV.
  • Is TSA Pre-Check available at Philadelphia International Airport?​

    • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) features TSA Pre™ lanes for eligible American Airlines , United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, and Southwest Airlines passengers at the security checkpoints in Terminals A-East, B, C, and D/E. The checkpoints are operated by the Transportation Security Administration.

      TSA Pre-Check lanes are available at the following checkpoints and times: Terminal A-East, availability varies according to passenger volume; Terminal B, 4am - 8pm; Terminal C, availability varies according to passenger volume; D-E, 4am - 6:30 pm.

      TSA Pre✓™ allows select frequent travelers of participating airlines and certain members of existing U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Programs eligibility to receive expedited screening benefits during domestic travel. Service members can use their DoD identification number when making travel reservations, permitting access to TSA Pre✓™ lanes. As of November 15, 2012, Canadian citizens traveling domestically within the United States who are members of NEXUS are also qualified to participate in TSA Pre✓™.       In addition, Global Entry kiosks are available in the federal inspection area of Customs Arrivals. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection program allows expedited clearance for pre-approved travelers upon arrival in the U.S. For more information, visit

  • Does the Airport offer Global Entry kiosks​


      Philadelphia International Airport offers Global Entry kiosks in the federal inspection area of Customs Arrivals in Terminal A-West on the 3rd Floor. Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Participants may enter the United States by using the automated kiosks located at the Airport.

      Travelers must be pre-approved for the Global Entry program. All applicants undergo a rigorous background check and interview before enrollment.
      Applicants can fill out an online application at www.globalentry.gov. Once the application is reviewed, the applicant will receive a message instructing them to schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. The Global Entry Enrollment Center at PHL is located in the federal inspection area in Terminal A-West on the 3rd Floor. For more information, visit www.globalentry.gov
