Picking Up Passengers

Before leaving for the Airport to pick up your party, be sure you have the following information: Airline, flight number, terminal, time of arrival and designated meeting place. Motorists coming to the Airport to pick up passengers should check the status of their party's flight prior to leaving for the Airport by contacting the airline directly, calling the Airport's toll-free flight information number (800-PHL-GATE) or consulting the Airport's or the airline's Web sites. Motorists are advised that it is illegal - and unsafe - to park along the access roads leading into the Airport. Until their party is ready to be picked up, motorists can wait in the PennDot Park & Ride/Cell Phone Lot on Bartram Avenue, which is convenient and free of charge.

Before leaving for the Airport, it is helpful to know the terminal at which your party will be arriving. To pick up passengers, enter the Airport on the Arriving Flights roadway, follow the signs to baggage claim and proceed to the baggage claim of your party's airline.

Passengers must be ready to be picked up at curbside outside the airline's baggage claim on the Arrivals Road. Vehicles can pull up curbside for ACTIVE loading ONLY. Vehicles left unattended will be towed. Designated areas are marked for handicapped loading. Skycaps are available to assist with baggage handling.

If you wish to wait for your party inside the Airport, you must park in either the short-term parking area or parking garage. Enter the Airport using the Arriving Flights roadway. For garage parking, bear to the left and follow the signs to parking; for short-term parking stay to the right and follow the signs to short-term parking. Park in the garage or short-term lot corresponding to your party's airline terminal. For information on parking rates, visit the Airport's Parking page.

If you are waiting for your party inside the baggage claim, baggage carousels are identified by airline. In Terminal B/C, consult the monitors near the escalators at each end of the baggage claim for the carousel on which the baggage of your party's flight will arrive.

International passengers arriving on overseas flights will arrive in the Terminal A-West International Arrivals Hall. If you wish to wait for your party in the Arrivals Hall, take the elevator in the parking garage or short-term lot to the 3rd level and proceed inside the Hall. NOTE: Check the terminal at which your party's flight is arriving; some international passengers, such as those arriving on flights from Canada, do not disembark at the International Arrivals Hall.

Passengers arriving at Terminal F (US Airways Express) can be picked up on the Arrivals Road outside Terminal E. If you wish to meet your party at Terminal F, park in the E/F garage or E/F short-term parking lot, take the elevator to the 2nd floor and the skywalk over to Terminal F. The baggage claim in Terminal F is located on the ground floor. NOTE: In Terminal F, the baggage claim and the ticketing area are both on the Departures Road.

Remember that only individuals with boarding passes to travel that day are permitted past the security checkpoint. Those who wish to meet arriving passengers in the terminal may wait in the area outside the security checkpoint.
