Hospitality Trainee

A hospitality trainee is supposed to acquire a good working knowledge of the hospitality sector with special attention to dealing with customers. The various roles and responsibilities of individual department are:

  • Front Office
    • Strong Problem solving and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent Communication skills
    • Should be able to deal with all types of customers and work under pressure
  • Food & Beverage
    • Should be able to sell F&B outlet services to the customer
    • Have a high service orientation
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Be a good team worker
    • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Housekeeping
    • Able to do repetitive jobs with consistency and excellence
    • Gives high attention to details
    • Should be a good team worker
    • Should be responsible, disciplined and organized
    • Should be honest
  • Sales
    • Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Quick decision making and negotiating skills
    • Should be persuasive and result oriented

 

 

Program Eligibility Requirements

The Hospitality Careers Program is seeking to hire qualified individuals that meet the following criteria: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a strong desire to attain and retain full-time employment
  • Must pass the pre-employment criminal background check
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from Philadelphia International Airport, which is located at:
    • 8500 Essington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19153 
  • Must be available and willing to work the following shifts: 
    • Evening Shift: 2:00PM-10:00PM ▪ This is the shift that Custodial Services Trainees work while in the program 
    • Overnight Shift:  10:00PM-6:00AM ▪ This is the shift that new permanent Custodial employees at the Airport work

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Salary Range: $12.20 per hour

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt, Temporary (40 hours per week)
