PHILADELPHIA - American Airlines is strengthening its presence at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) with three new destinations and expanded service to the Caribbean. The airline is making it easier and more convenient for PHL customers to take off on a tropical getaways, enjoy the landscapes of New Mexico and experience more regional connectivity.

PHL winter service warming up
American serves more destinations from PHL than any other airline, and this winter, the airline is adding one new destination and expanding frequencies on three other routes. During the holiday season, American will offer service to 14 destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America from PHL with more than 20 peak-day departures.
New service from PHL to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ) will begin Dec.18 operated on an Airbus A321 aircraft. This tropical city provides visitors the chance to relax on nearby beaches, enjoy new cultural experiences and learn about the Dominican Republic's history.

Up, up and away
Ahead of the world's largest hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque, American will begin operating special flights from PHL starting Oct. 3 through the end of the event on Oct. 13. The added service will operate roundtrip between PH Land ABO on a Boeing 737 aircraft for six days.
American is also adding flights from its hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to the hot air ballon festival. In total, American will operate more than 2,000 added seats for the nine-day event.
PHL expanding Landline service
American is the only carrier to offer customers access to regional airports to and from PHL through Landline, a premium motorcoach experience. Beginning Sept. 22, American will expand its Landline service to include Trenton, New Jersey (TTN). There will be three daily Land line connections from PHL, as well as three return options from TTN.
In total, American provides Landline service between PHL and five regional airports, including:
- Allentown/Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (ABE)
- Atlantic City, New Jersey (ACY)
- Trenton, New Jersey (TTN)
- Wilks-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania (AVP)
- Wilmington, Delaware (ILG)

Service with Landline offers a seamless customer experience, allowing travelers to through-check bags, clear security at their departing airport, and earn AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points for their travels. Tickets for travel to Albuquerque and Trenton can be purchased now on aa.com or via American's mobile app. Tickets for American's new and expanded holiday schedule will be available starting July 14.
