From May 6-October 5, American Airlines will offer nonstop service between Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Nice, France.  Why should you consider racing off to Nice?

For starters, Nice will be the final destination of the 2024 Tour de France, marking the first time the event concludes outside of Paris in it’s 121-year history. 

More of a movie buff? The South of France is known for events such as the Cannes Film Festival, an annual festival which previews films of all genres from around the world, and is just a few miles from Nice. The event is known as one of the “Big Five” Film festivals in the world, on par with the three major European Film Festivals, Toronto International Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival in the United States. 

Of course, you can't beat the alluring beaches, climate and mountains for a scenic escapes. Foodies will not want to miss the world-renowned cuisine such as ratatouille and salade nicose, and the Cours Saleya market with its large selection of produce and local specialties.

Philadelphians will also be interested in taking a day trip to nearby Monaco. The home of the late Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, is less than 40 minutes away from Nice.
