March 2026 Newsletter

Good things start with your feedback!

The Employee Survey results are in and show major gains across all areas!

A majority of employees have spoken and we're excited to share the results! We made major gains since the previous survey taken in 2023. Since that survey, the workplace engagement unit, together with leadership and you, focused on key areas of opportunity for the organization. We discussed these issues during employee roadshows, in unit meetings and at events. It's great to see that our work has paid off.

  • There was increased participation in the survey --- our workforce has grown, and we doubled the number of survey respondents – reaching 55% of employees
  • We increased “promoters” – those who would recommend the Department of Aviation as a place to work, and employees who recommend our airports in general
  • Overall average workplace satisfaction increased, reaching 3.7 overall

Thank you everyone who worked within your teams on your action plans and those who participated in other engagement events. We look forward to digging into the feedback to target how we can make the Department of Aviation an even better place to work in the future!

Next Steps

We'll be scheduling meetings with your units to share the full details of the surveys and the feedback for your individual unit so we can develop action plans.

First Quarter Update
The first quarter has been busy for the GOLD Pros!  In January, we kicked off the New Year with our annual vision board party. Sherrise Rowe, Director Federal Contracting Initiatives, asked us to consider the following questions as we worked: What does your next chapter look like? What gives you joy? How far will you go to obtain it?

In February, we celebrated Galentine’s Day with a Par-TEA. Each gal (and ally) enjoyed gifts, good food and fun.
We’re so excited to mark our second anniversary on March 11. All are welcome to attend what will be an informative meeting.

Monthly Tech Tip: Keyboard Shortcuts

Save time every day by using keyboard shortcuts instead of clicking through menus. A few small habits can add up to big efficiency gains.
Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V – Copy & Paste
Alt + Tab – Switch between open apps
Ctrl + Shift + Esc – Open Task Manager
Windows + L – Lock your computer
Learning just 3–5 shortcuts you use daily can shave minutes off tasks — and those minutes add up fast!
