Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) welcomed more than 30.1 million passengers in 2025. This is the first time since 2018 and 2019 that PHL surpassed more than 30 million passengers in consecutive years. Over 4.1 million of PHL’s 2025 passengers traveled to and from international destinations—an increase of 7.5 percent from 2024.
“The arrival of Aeroméxico, flying to Mexico City, and the launch of new seasonal flights from American Airlines to Edinburgh and Milan, and Frontier Airlines to Santiago, Dominican Republic, gave our passengers even more exciting international options last year,” said City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation Chief Commercial Officer Kate Sullivan. “With nonstop service to Prague and Budapest this spring, along with the FIFA World Cup, America’s 250th birthday, and other showcase events and activities, we anticipate our international volume to grow even more this year.”
PHL also experienced growth in cargo operations for the first time since 2021. More than 482,000 tons of airmail and freight were handled by PHL’s partners in 2025, up 7.4 percent over 2024.
Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) is a general aviation airport, which is also owned and operated by the Department of Aviation. For the third consecutive year, PNE was the busiest general aviation airport and third busiest airport in Pennsylvania. PNE had 123,380 plane movements, a one percent increase over 2024. As a general aviation airport, PNE has major tenants engaged in private transport, business and corporate flying, the manufacturing or building process of those aircraft, providing flight training and aviation mechanical training.
