A Wrestling Fan’s Guide to PHL

Headed to Philadelphia for the biggest spectacle of sports entertainment? Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is excited to welcome thousands of fans headed to the city for WWE WrestleMania XL Week, featuring Friday Night Smackdown and WWE Hall of Fame on April 5, NXT Stand & Deliver on April 6, WWE WrestleMania XL on April 6 and 7 and Monday Night Raw on April 8.

For many, this will be their first visit to Philadelphia. This guide to PHL will help fans get from the airport to the main events with ease.

Before heading out of the airport, all passengers can get the ultimate WWE experience when looking inside the squared circle and seeing WWE Championship Titles. Check out the replica wrestling ring and title belts that will be on display in PHL’s ring in the B/C connector and near the top of Terminal E. Don’t forget to pick up some merchandise from select PHL Food & Shops retail locations.

Not flying in for WWE WrestleMania XL Week?  You can still see the special exhibitions at PHL with a Wingmate Pass. Visit phl.org/wingmate for details. The belts will be on display April 3-8.

Arriving Passengers
Need wheelchair assistance? Contact your airline prior to travel to arrange for support once you land at PHL.

Did you check luggage? Remember which terminal your deboarded from and head to that exit and across the bridge to baggage claim. All other passengers can use any terminal exit. PHL’s Navigators, Volunteer Navigators and Virtual Help Desk staff are available at information desks along the way to provide direction.

Travelers needing transportation after retrieving their luggage or exiting the terminals, should note the following:

Visitors are reminded that, unless they have made arrangements for a driver to meet them inside baggage claim, they should not accept rides from drivers outside of the designated ground transportation pick-up zones, or drivers that approach them inside the airport or cannot be identified as authorized rideshare or taxi drivers. Passengers who are approached by drivers are advised to tell an attendant at the baggage claim information desk or call Airport Police from a white courtesy phone or 911 on their cellphones. Those needing assistance finding their ride waiting area can also ask the information desk attendant or contact the Airport Operations Center from a white courtesy phone or by calling 215-937-6937.

Have some time to spend in Philadelphia before the big matches?  Why not check out Visit Philadelphia’s website for itinerary ideas and WWE World, the interactive fan experience at the Convention Center. Need help getting around town? SEPTA is convenient, especially for getting to Lincoln Financial Field and the Wells Fargo Center for all the WWE action.

Getting Home
All good things must come to an end and PHL anticipates most fans will start heading home on April 8.  While guests may have arrived in town on different days leading up to WWE WrestleMania XL Week, the majority will be departing on the same days (April 8-9). Be sure to arrive at the airport at least two hours before boarding times for domestic flights (three hours for international flights) to not risk missing your flights.

Some additional reminders for passengers:

  • TSA PreCheck is available at Terminals A-East, C and D/E. Non PreCheck passengers may use all security checkpoints except for Terminal C. Hours of operation for all security checkpoints can be found here
  • Empty your water bottles in the liquid recycling receptacles before entering security. PHL offers water bottle refill stations once inside security checkpoints. Check out our online map for locations.
  • Passengers can access all PHL terminals through any TSA checkpoint --- and check out the wrestling belt exhibits that will be on display until April 8 in PHL’s ring in the B/C connector and near the top of Terminal E if you missed them when you arrived.
