August 2025 Newsletter

It has been an eventful summer for the Department of Aviation and Philadelphia. We welcomed the FIFA Club World Cup from mid-June to July 4th and our airports were as busy as ever with summer guests. Through it all, our teams are focused on providing stellar guest experiences. It is also great to have everyone back following the union contract negotiations.

As we head into the final weeks of summer, we have some employee updates:

The Employee Survey will now launch in September. Stay tuned for more info on its new launch date.

Update to SEPTA Schedules on August 24

SEPTA will implement its fall schedule on Sunday, August 24. Without a funding increase from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, there will be service cuts that affect bus and train service to PHL.  These possible cuts include:

  • Airport Line: Service reduced from every 30 minutes to hourly
  • Route 37: Service will be reduced by up to 20%. Peak headways will go from 15 to 20 minutes. Midday headways will go from 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Route 108: Service will be reduced by up to 20%. Peak headways will go from 15 to 20 minutes. Midday headways will go from 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Route 115: The route will be shortened, and all trips will end at Darby Transit Center. Passengers traveling to Delaware County Community College and West Chester Pike can take Route 113 and transfer to Route 112 or Route 104.

SEPTA riders should also note that rail lines and bus routes they may take to the Airport Line might also have service cuts.  All potential service cuts are posted at septa.org/fundingcrisis/service-cuts/. Please continue to follow the SEPTA funding issues and possible service reductions on the local news.
