KAT LEE: SPACES AND PLACES #2
KAT LEE: SPACES AND PLACES #2

Philadelphia artist Kat Lee uses a variety of mediums to create fully functional domestic interiors. The all-handmade environments feature her signature black-and-white palette applied to every surface from the textured wallpaper and printed fabric curtains to the table, ceramic ware, and framed collage. Each of the elements is embellished with repetitive circles, dots, and lines. The patterns and achromatic color scheme are common threads that unify the composition, while at the same time, the all-over marks and high contrast aesthetic creates a space that visually pulsates.

Lee has described her installations as “rhythmic graphic experiences,” whereby “all of the pieces support each other…and together the patterns dance.”
