PHL to Host TransWork’s First Job Fair

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is hosting the first Job Fair for TransWork on Tuesday, September 10, from 3-5 PM, at the William Way Community Center at 1315 Spruce Street.

The Airport, which is owned and operated by the City of Philadelphia, has partnered with TransWork, a program of the Independence Business Alliance, whose goal is to increase access to opportunities for transgender people in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The Job Fair is focused on helping transgender, non-binary, and gender variant individuals find employment at the Airport. The City’s Division of Aviation has opportunities for civil service positions and there are some 200 private businesses as well as federal government agencies that operate at PHL.

At the Job Fair, participants will learn about employment opportunities at PHL, requirements for working at the Airport, benefits for City employees including transgender health benefits, and the Airport’s diversity and inclusion efforts. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with PHL Human Resources representatives.

“PHL is proud to partner with TransWork in their efforts to open doors to employment opportunities for transgender individuals,” said Airport CEO Chellie Cameron. “We are pleased to be hosting the first Job Fair for TransWork. Working at the Airport is exciting and rewarding and we encourage attendance at this important event to find out more about job opportunities at PHL.”
