AVA BLITZ: FORMS OF EXISTENCE
AVA BLITZ: FORMS OF EXISTENCE
Between Terminals B and C

June 15, 2005 -  November 14, 2005

Philadelphia artist Ava Blitz creates abstract sculptures inspired by organic shapes that are suggestive of biological, botanical, and geological forms. Using materials and techniques such as carved stone and cast cement, Blitz's objects appear fossilized. The forms, seemingly captured in a state of growth or evolution, embody an ambiguous energy from within. Often working with a series of shapes, Blitz creates sculptures by massing similar forms together or, by composing objects in groupings to establish relationships between each element.
