Philadelphia floral designer Nicole Rossi founded Texture Florals, Philadelphia, in 2017. She describes her one-of-a-kind floral designs as “an art form, and when I think about design, whether minimal or lavish, the two main areas of focus rely heavily on color and shape.”

Now a renowned floral designer, Rossi began her professional career as an architect but her passion for growing flowers and fresh cut flowers gradually changed her focus. Initially, Rossi established a flower CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscription service that enabled her to learn more about the floral business and ultimately, sparked her interest to pursue floral design.

Today, Texture Florals is highly sought after for weddings, events, and stylings for photo shoots. Each project is unique and dependent on Texture Florals’ collaboration with the client and their resulting creative interpretation. And it is Rossi’s love for collaboration that led her to work with other creatives such as set designers, photographers, metalsmiths, and printers who collectively compose imaginative, fanciful environments.

In that same spirit, this exhibition features Texture Florals’ first wallpaper collaboration with Mothpaper, Philadelphia, whereby Rossi’s 3-dimensional floral arrangements are immersed within custom wallpaper that “summons a feast for the eyes.”  Rossi said about the wallpaper, “Each flower selected was arranged in a series of compositions created by Texture Florals and beautifully captured through the lens of Mothpaper.”

This exhibition is also the first time that Texture Florals has exchanged fresh flowers for silk flowers due to the long-term duration of the installation. Fresh or silk, Texture Florals’ portfolio of designs are consistently vibrant compositions that always uplift the soul.
