We hope that you and your families are healthy and safe. In 2019, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) supported more than 96,300 jobs across the region, and over 20,000 positions at the Airport. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted operations at the Airport, so we understand that this has also disrupted jobs and livelihoods of those who work at or depend on the Airport. “People First” is the first point in our PRIDE values. The safety, health, and welfare of our employees, passengers, and partners has always been and continues to be a priority.

Unemployment Benefits

icon unemploymentYou may be eligible for unemployment benefits if you were laid off, furloughed, or have reduced hours due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Customer service lines are currently seeing long wait times and both Pennsylvania and New Jersey recommend submitting your claim online.

The CARES Act includes Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUS) for individuals not typically eligible for unemployment (independent contractors, gig workers, etc.).

Utility, Phone and Internet

utility iconDue to the COVID-19 pandemic, many utility, phone and internet providers are implementing programs to assist customers.


Suspending service disconnections and new late payment charges for all customers through July 1, 2020.


Suspending non-payment terminations and new late payment charges until further notice. Please note that regular billing will continue.


Suspended shut offs for residential customers due to non-payment. Customers unable to pay should call 1-800-357-2262 to arrange a deferred payment plan.


  • Xfinity wifi hotspots will be free to anyone through June 30, 2020.
  • Internet essentials free for 60 days to new customers
  • All customers will receive unlimited data for 60 days, free of charge
  • No late fees or disconnects as long as a customer contacts Comcast to explain the situation


  • Providing free access to public WiFi hotspots
  • Waiving data overage and late fees
  • Apply for a waiver if you have difficulty paying your bill. Waiver applies to fees or charges incurred from March 13, 2020 to June 30, 2020.


Through June 30, 2020 Verizon is waiving late fees and terminations for residential and small business customers due to hardships caused by the coronavirus.


Unlimited data to all current customers who do not have unlimited data through June 30, 2020.

Increasing data allowance for students to 20 GB of data per month.

Philadelphia Water

Water shutoff freeze extended through July 10, 2020.

Mortgage and Rent

The federal government has information about mortgage payment options from individuals impacted by COVID-19.


Renters are encouraged to contact their landlords to develop a payment plan if they are unable to pay.

  • Pennsylvania: Moratorium on evictions through July 10, 2020
  • New Jersey: Moratorium on evictions until further notice (up to 60 days after state of emergency declaration lifted)
  • Philadelphia: Moratorium on evictions through July 10, 2020 The CARES Act Eviction Moratorium stops some landlords from charging late fees, sending eviction notices or filing eviction cases for non-payment of rent until after July 25, 2020. 


Credit Card Payments

credit card iconMany credit card companies are offering relief to those customers who are unable to pay their bill. All ask that you contact them via their support lines.

food iconThe City of Philadelphia is distributing free food boxes at many sites. Families can pick up meals for children and youth at 80+ locations throughout the city. All children and youth are eligible, and no ID is required.

transportation iconParking at the airport is free to staff and passengers in short term garages on a first-come first-served basis through May 31, 2020. The Economy lot is closed.
