Molly Bernstein is an artist and potter based in South Philadelphia where she makes ceramic sculptures and runs a gallery called MultiA native of South Jersey, she received a BFA from The University of the Arts and has studied ceramics at the Kyoei-Gama Ceramics School in Tokoname, Japan, The Chautauqua Institution, and a fellowship at Penland School of Craft in Western North Carolina.

Molly attributes a large part of her creativity to her formative years in Cape May, New Jersey. “I think growing up on an island gives you somewhat of a unique childhood… I see that foundation as my first experience with being in dialogue with greater force -- at the time the ocean, now a greater creative landscape, but they share a parallel that I know how to make sense of.”  In addition to her sculptural works, Molly also has a production line called Vessel Garden that gleans patterns and colors inspired by her parents’ former kite shop in Cape May. Molly's most recent work pulls from her personal history as a potter while leaving function behind to examine the concept of collective memory -- how we utilize our own remembrances, as well as those of strangers, to make sense of loss.
