It’s one of the most anticipated events at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) — the annual 5K on the Runway. More than 400 runners and walkers turned out for the eighth 5K, which “took off” from runway 8-26 on September 6.  

The fastest runners to “land” at the finish line were Davies Adepoju (male), Adrienne Purdy (female), and Gabriel Karl (nonbinary). The top three male and female runners in seven age groups, ranging from 12-under to 60-over, were also awarded medals. A complete list of winners can be found here.   

Proceeds from the race totaled almost $42,000—a record—and supported Eastwick United, Eastwick Friends and Neighbors Coalition and March of Dimes.
