Travelers that were not ready to fly this summer but are considering a fall or winter getaway, have more direct flight choices at PHL with American Airlines, including service to many popular vacation destinations.
“In the six months since the COVID-19 pandemic started, PHL and American Airlines have demonstrated the measures we have incorporated for the health and safety of passengers,” said PHL CEO Chellie Cameron. “We are hopeful that knowing those protocols, along with having a variety of great destinations, will encourage people to book flights they have been considering.”
“American continues to evolve our route network and enhance our Clean Commitment, ensuring we safely connect customers to the places they want to go,” said Jim Moses, American Airlines Vice President of Northeast Hubs and Gateways. “In response to growing leisure demand, American is expanding service from PHL to select markets in Florida and the Caribbean—offering customers throughout the Northeast more choice this winter.”
In October, American Airlines will add warm weather destinations like Aruba, Montego Bay, Melbourne, Provincials and Punta Cana to its Philadelphia roster. The airline follows those additions in November with service to:
- Nassau
- Sarasota/Bradenton
- St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
And in December:
- Bermuda
- Daytona Beach
- Palm Springs
- Salt Lake City
“This expanded service is great news for our regional travelers, and it will help boost connecting traffic from passengers coming from other areas of the country,” said Cameron. “We’re looking forward to welcoming our guests this fall and winter.”
