PHL Director of Safety Management Systems David Staples Appointed to NEC-AAAE Board of Directors

David Staples, director of Safety Management Systems at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Northeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (NEC-AAAE) for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2022.   Staples, who has been a member of has been a AAAE member for ten years,  achieved Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) status in 2018. He will be eligible for re-election to the NEC-AAAE Board after his first term.  

“I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the management of the chapter and a viewpoint from someone closer to the beginning of their airport management career,” said Staples. “ I enjoy mentoring young professionals and those pursuing certification and accreditation through AAAE.”   

NEC-AAAE coordinates and promotes the interests of airports located in the northeast United States and provides professional development opportunities and training to airport members. The chapter aims to support diversity among airport managers and a balanced representation of individuals, airport sizes, and management positions within the leadership and membership.
