Guests coming back to PHL this fall will have some assistance as they reacquaint themselves with the airport. New large PHL Food & Shops wayfinding signs were recently installed to help passengers locate restaurants and stores in each terminal.
“Many guests want to know what food and retail options are available closest to their gates or along their way to the waiting areas,” said Megan O’Connell, MarketPlace PHL Marketing and Customer Service Manager.
The brightly colored signage can be found wrapping a pillar at the entrance to the Terminal D gates, on freestanding sign holders at high traffic points throughout the airport and a large storefront just past the Terminal B security checkpoint. Additional signage will be placed at other strategic locations throughout the airport in the near future. Signs also include QR codes that, when scanned, open links to concessions’ hours of operation and how to use the Grab mobile food ordering platform.
“Due to COVID-19, merchants have changed their hours of operation, and some are not open at this time” said O’Connell. “We wanted to make navigating the terminals as easy as possible for guests and introduce ways for them to contactlessly order their favorite food.”
