Airport Sustainability Manager Jessica Noon Appointed to Airport Council International Environmental Affairs Committee

Jessica NoonCongratulations to Department of Aviation Sustainability Manager Jessica Noon, who was recently elected as one of six at-large airport members on the Environmental Affairs Committee for the Airport Council International-North America (ACI-NA).

The ACI-NA serves as the representative body for owners and operators of commercial airports across local, regional, and state levels. Advocating for the interests of more than 300 airports in the US and Canada, ACI-NA engages in impactful initiatives, including influencing legislation, disseminating pertinent information to local and national media, conducting research to generate data, and facilitating educational opportunities for airport and aviation-related businesses.

The Environmental Affairs Committee is dedicated to formulating and implementing the organization's environmental policy positions. This effort involves collaboration with legislators and regulators; and includes contributions to federal aviation environmental research programs. Noon will play a crucial role in establishing strong relationships with sustainability leaders across the country, influencing the committee's agenda, and highlighting the sustainability initiatives at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE).

As a member of the Committee, Noon will actively participate in meetings focusing on environmental efforts and contributing to the development of the environmental track for ACI conferences. Her goal is to communicate environmental concerns relevant to PHL and PNE elevating them in discussions with elected officials and the FAA.

“I am very proud of what Jessica and her team in the Capital Development Group have achieved for our Airports and I look forward to her continued leadership at the Department of Aviation and in the industry” said Department of Aviation  Deputy Director of Aviation-Capital Development Api Appulingam.

Noon anticipates that there will be synergy between her position as  Airport Sustainability Manager and her new role as a committee member, allowing her to contribute to implementing sound practices and innovations, and providing valuable information to senior staff at the airports. Through this experience, Noon will gain insights into innovative sustainability practices across North American airports, connections with industry leaders, and aims to enhance sustainability efforts at PHL and PNE.
