Be Part of the Team that Welcomes the World to Philly

When the world comes to Philadelphia for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches and the events of 2026, before there is any action on the pitch, the baseball diamond and across the city, the first experience guests will encounter is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

To ensure all guests — many of whom will be visiting Philadelphia for the first time — have a first-class experience, PHL’s Volunteer Navigator Team will be on duty throughout the airport to answer questions, provide directions and even offer food, shopping and travel recommendations.

“Great volunteers are invaluable assets for the airport,” said Leah Douglas, PHL Director of Guest Experience. “PHL’s volunteers show dedication and commitment to making Philadelphia a welcoming and better place for visitors and connecting travelers from across the states and around the world.”

The PHL Volunteer Navigator Program is managed by Travelers Aid International. As Philadelphia prepares to host major events, the Volunteer Navigators are even more important to PHL and its guests. Volunteer Navigators may be some of the first people guests encounter at PHL. The airport is actively recruiting volunteers now to be ready to assist guests when the celebrations and activities start.

“It is important that volunteers are eager to learn and ready to help. The airport is a unique and dynamic place, so it’s vital that volunteers understand their environment,” said Douglas. “A great PHL volunteer is empathetic, friendly, accessible, and respectful. Having knowledge of Philadelphia and the surrounding area is also helpful.”

Volunteers must commit to a minimum of one, 4-hour shift each week (8am-12noon, 12noon-4pm, or 4pm-8pm) for one year.  Being bilingual or multilingual is also a plus.
