Department of Aviation Partners with Eastwick United CDC to Spread Holiday Cheer for Local Students

The Department of Aviation kicked off its holiday season of giving when staff partnered with Eastwick United CDC to serve an early Thanksgiving feast to more than 300 kindergarten through fifth grade students at Penrose Elementary School on November 22. The airport team was invited to volunteer through their partnership with Roseanne Rodriguez, the School Improvement Support Liaison for Penrose. The food was prepared by Penrose's teachers and staff.

Community Relations and Outreach Coordinator Zoraida “Z” Antonetty said, “It was a pleasure being able to serve a meal to the Penrose Elementary school students, alongside Department of Aviation staff and our community partners, including Brenda Whitfield from Eastwick United. The smiles of the grateful children were priceless!”

The Department of Aviation is also partnering with Eastwick United for an Angel Tree Holiday Gift Drive for Penrose students. Keesha Lane, Department of Aviation Director of Community Relations and Outreach, expressed her gratitude to all of the partners and volunteers. "Thank you so very much to Eastwick United for partnering with PHL on this initiative. Teamwork makes the dream work! And thank you so much to Penrose for the invite and allowing us to serve your little ones!”
