Effective Tuesday, September 15, 2020, Philadelphia International Airport will temporarily discontinue operations in non-secure portions of Terminal A-East. This scope will cover the following areas:
Restricted as of September 15:
- Terminal A-East Ticketing
- Terminal A-East Baggage Claim
- Terminal A-East Bridge
- Terminal A-East TSA Security Checkpoint
- Terminal A-East TSA Exit Lane
The following areas will remain accessible throughout the closure:
- Terminal A-East Parking Garage
- Terminal A-East Hold Rooms
- Terminal A-East Food and Shops
- Terminal A-East American Airlines Onsite Clinic
- Terminal A-West Hold Rooms
- Terminal A-West TSA Security Checkpoint
- Terminal A-West Ticketing
- Terminal A-West Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
Passengers and employees will be directed to use non-secure side access points and amenities in Terminal A-West and Terminal B throughout the closure, and signage will be posted to assist with wayfinding.
All of the planned closure activities are designed for rapid reopening and recovery when increased traffic resumes at PHL. The airport continues to right-size operations according to passenger demand, in coordination with its airline and operational partners. Updates will be provided at PHL.org/Newsroom
