PHL Food & Shops Preparing for Busy Summer with Job Fair

Summer 2021 will look much different than summer 2020 at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Increased flight activity and the public’s renewed interest traveling by plane to vacation destinations mean PHL’s terminals will be the most active they have been in over a year. PHL Food & Shops merchants are preparing for the busy summer season by holding a job fair at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott with more than 30 businesses on May 25, from 10 a.m. -1 p.m.

“Many of our retail and food concessionaires have openings for all job experience levels, from entry-level to management, including sales associate, supervisor, barista and line cook,” said Megan O’Connell, PHL Food & Shops Marketing and Customer Manager. “The job fair will give applicants access to our merchants to learn more about current opportunities, apply for jobs and participate in our version of speed dating: on-the-spot ‘speed interviews’.”

PHL Food & Shops merchants participating in the job fair include local favorites like Chickie’s and Pete’s, La Colombe, Tony Luke’s and Jim’s Steaks, as well as national brands such as Vera Bradley, LIDS and Vino Volo.

“The airport offers a really unique environment,” said O’Connell. “It’s fast-paced and employees have the opportunity to welcome visitors from around the world to Philadelphia.”

The starting salary for many positions is $13.20. Other employment incentives include:

  • Sign-on bonuses
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • Extended employee discounts
  • Easy access to public transit (SEPTA Regional Rail and bus routes 37, 108 and 115)
  • Free employee parking

The PHL Food & Shops’ job fair is intended to fill open positions at the stores and restaurants within the airport. The event is free and pre-registration is not required. Applicants must bring a copy of their resume for entrance and should bring additional copies to distribute to employers on-site. The Marriott is located at One Arrivals Road, Terminal B, Philadelphia, PA 19153 — directly across from the SEPTA Airport Line Terminal B station stop. Reduced parking at the Marriott is also available for job fair attendees.  All participants must wear face masks.
