Happy Engineers Week! PHL Salutes Our Team Members

February 21-27 is designated as Engineers Week, and the Division of Aviation is saluting our team of engineers who perform a variety of important jobs that are crucial to Philadelphia International and Northeast Philadelphia airports. The Division of Aviation Engineering Department focuses on the replacement, rehabilitation and expansion of airport facilities and systems including:

 

  • Runways, Taxiways and Aprons
  • Terminals
  • Roadways
  • Restrooms
  • Roofs
  • Passenger Boarding Bridges
  • Baggage Handling Systems
  • Drainage Infrastructure
  • Electrical Infrastructure
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems
  • Video Surveillance Systems

In addition, our team of 50-plus engineers perform quality assurance and quality control of airport facility projects and tenant work and serve in an advisory capacity on facility related issues, projects and tasks.

The airport team consists of engineers skilled in the following areas:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Structural
  • Architectural
  • Civil
