Travelers passing through Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) now have two more reasons to arrive early or stay a little longer: Oyster House and Federal Donuts & Chicken. As part of MarketPlace PHL’s “Founded in Philly” initiative, local favorites Oyster House and Federal Donuts & Chicken have opened their first airport locations . Thanks to a collaboration between Jackmont Hospitality and ACDBE partner Brenda Branch of High Places Concessions, travelers can now enjoy a taste of Philadelphia from these iconic eateries in
the B/C connector.
Oyster House
Oyster House has been part of Philadelphia’s restaurant scene since 1947 and is now operated by third-generation owner Sam Mink. At its new airport location, travelers can enjoy the same quality classics as raw oysters, lobster rolls, and clam chowder as they would in the restaurant’s Center City location.
Federal Donuts & Chicken
Located next to Oyster House is Federal Donuts & Chicken a Philly classic co-founded in 2011 by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Solomonov. The new airport location is the brand’s 12th store. Beloved for its crispy chicken, rotating donut flavors, and coffee with a kick, Federal Donuts & Chicken has built a devoted local following that travelers can now enjoy right at PHL.
MarketPlace PHL’s “Founded in Philly” initiative highlights businesses that originated in the city and continue to shape its cultural identity. With record-breaking travel expected ahead of major global events in 2026, including the FIFA World Cup and America’s 250th birthday, PHL is focused on having a food scene that reflects the city’s proud heritage.
“Founded in Philly is about bringing what makes Philadelphia special into the airport in a way that feels real. Oyster House and Federal Donuts & Chicken are two local spots that people know and love, and we’re excited to now have them here at PHL,” said Dana Krawchuk, Marketing and Guest Experience Manager for MarketPlace PHL. “It’s not just about serving great food; it’s about creating that Philly experience for travelers the moment they walk through the terminal.”
