Live Music Takes Flight at PHL

Gear up PHL guests, this summer Philadelphia International Airport is introducing live music programming throughout the summer. “Live Music at PHL” is part of Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s initiative giving passengers and employees the opportunity to experience curated performances featuring an array of Philadelphia artists.

“Our goal is to create authentic, engaging music performances that showcase the incredible talent our city has to offer. We are honored to partner with the Mayor’s Office, Creative Philadelphia, and the Original Music City Task Force to give guests from around the world a taste of Philadelphia’s vibrant and diverse music scene,” said Leah Douglas, PHL’s Director of Guest Experience. “For more than 25 years, the airport has successfully highlighted the city’s visual artists and culture institutions through its award-winning exhibitions program, now it has expanded to include live performances at PHL, spotlighting Philadelphia’s rich musical history while celebrating the artists who shape its future.”

Live Music at PHL kicks off May 14. Performances are located throughout the airport.

May performers include:

  • Thursday, May 14: Philadelphia Clef Club Jazz Philharmonic Band (Soft Jazz)

  •  Tuesday, May 19: West Philadelphia Orchestra (Avant Funk Village Brass Band)

  • Thursday, May 21: DJ Robert Drake of WXPN (Sounds of Philadelphia)
