PHL Unsung Heroes: Hudson Group/Avolta Assistant Multi-Unit Manager Rebecca Reardon
Rebecca Reardon

Hudson Group/Avolta Assistant Multi-Unit Manager Rebecca Reardon received the “Unsung Heroes” award from Philadelphia International Airport's (PHL) Employee Recognition Program. This award serves to recognize and honor employees who play crucial behind-the-scenes roles.

Reardon began her PHL career in 2015, with Marshall Retail Group. She’s been with Hudson Group/Avolta, since April 2019.  Reardon helps oversee daily operations across multiple units, support staff; makes sure standards are being followed; and helps create a smooth experience for passengers. Her responsibilities include assisting with team supervision, solving day-to-day issues, supporting customer service, and helping the operation run efficiently and safely.

Reardon loves that working at PHL means that she gets to serve people from all different backgrounds and cultures. “The most meaningful part of my job is being able to support both my team and the passengers. I enjoy helping operations run smoothly and knowing that the work we do has a direct impact on people’s travel experience. At Hudson we always aim to be ‘A Traver’s Best friend!’ says Reardon.

In her nomination of Reardon, MarketPlace PHL Compliance Manager Urselle Garnett wrote, “A passenger’s representative contacted MarketPlace PHL in search of a personal hygiene item. After confirming they weren’t available in Hudson stores, Rebecca suggested another news operator. She then went a step further, offering to personally pick up the items, come in early, and deliver them to the passenger. MarketPlace PHL connected her with the passenger, and Rebecca ensured the supplies were delivered, later confirming everything was handled. This act reflects her selflessness and genuine care for others. I’m honored to nominate her for this well-deserved recognition.”

Reardon’s co-workers describe her as someone who’s reliable, supportive, and easy to work with. She always aims to do her best to stay calm, help when needed, and to be someone the team can count on and will always do her best to find a solution to any problem.

A memorable moment Reardon at the airport was when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. “The atmosphere, the chants 'GO BIRDS’ throughout the airport, the happiness, and pride on everyone’s faces walking through the airport was just an amazing experience!” she said.

Reardon strives to always stay consistent, work hard, treat people with respect and others the way you would want to be treated. “I believe in leading by example and staying positive, even during stressful situations. A mindset I believe in is work hard, stay humble, and keep improving.”

“I would like to thank my team and coworkers for their support, hard work, and dedication. I would also like to thank the managers and mentors who have helped guide me since I started with Hudson in 2019. Their support has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Someone who really sticks out to me is my manager, Lisa Meas Ho. She is such an amazing leader, manager and person. She is always willing to help in any way. Lisa is someone I look up to and strive to be like. I truly appreciate her guidance and professionalism.”

The PHL Employee Recognition Program was established by the airport’s Strategy Groups’ Guest Experience (GX) unit. Honorees are nominated by their peers and guests and are selected by the GX Council Steering Committee’s Stakeholder Engagement Committee.
