Statement Regarding Passing of Paul Frishkorn

The Philadelphia International Airport family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of longtime American Airlines flight attendant Paul Frishkorn. We share our sincerest sympathy with the American community during this difficult time and will continue supporting their efforts to ensure a clean and safe Airport environment.

The Airport has been using an enhanced cleaning and disinfecting program since the COVID-19 crisis first emerged. This program includes daily cleaning of high touch areas, social distancing procedures in the terminals, personal protective equipment for custodial teams and motion sensor technology in restrooms and common areas.

The Airport and its partners use a common response plan that outlines preventing the transmission and spread of communicable diseases. Airport representatives are working closely with the CDC, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and state officials to monitor the status of COVID-19 in our region and support a coordinated response.

The health of PHL’s passengers and employees is its highest priority.
