What's Hot at PHL Food & Shops?

Before embarking on their summer journeys from PHL, many travelers are making stops at PHL Food & Shops merchants.  What must passengers have as they return to the skies? "We know that passengers are looking to stay safe and healthy while traveling, so our merchants have stocked up on all of the essentials," said Megan O’Connell, PHL Food & Shops Marketing and Customer Service Manager. "Whether it’s a face mask, sanitizer or a quick snack, PHL Food & Shops have everything someone might need before takeoff."

1-2. Neck Pillows and Personal Protective Equipment: In the COVID-19 world, it’s not surprising that the number one and two purchases at PHL are items that help passengers feel more comfortable about flying: neck pillows for passengers that prefer to not rest their heads on their seats, and PPE including face coverings, hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes.

3-4. Cheesesteaks and Team Gear: PHL passengers also want to take a little bit of Philadelphia with them: cheesesteaks and Phillies and Eagles gear are next on the top five best sellers list. Cheesesteaks, which can be purchased in every terminal, are a convenient grab and go meal that can be taken onboard a plane. Stay-at-home orders disrupted sports seasons, which has been especially difficult for Philadelphia’s passionate fans. With seasons ready to resume or get started, fans are stocking up on apparel of their favorite teams.

5. Prepackaged Food and Snacks: Social distancing means that many airlines have limited onboard service. Many travelers are opting for sweet treats, sandwiches and other quick meals to carry on their flights. Passengers looking for a healthy option can find fresh fruit, salads and bowls in Farmer’s Fridge vending machines.

As passenger volume increases, more PHL Food & Shops restaurants and merchants are reopening to serve PHL guests. For a list of all currently open concessions, visit phl.org/open.
