PHL Wingmate Guest Pass Program Update

On November 1, 2023, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) launched the PHL Wingmate Guest Pass Program, allowing nonticketed guests to apply for a one-day pass to access PHL’s terminals, post-security, from 4 am-10 pm. From the introduction of the Wingmate program through the end of the year, approximately 1,577 passes were approved.

“We receive many inquiries from friends and family members looking to escort a passenger to or from their gate,” said PHL Director of Marketing and Branding Megan O’Connell. “The Wingmate Guest Pass allows loved ones to spend more time with their family members before take-off or creates a memorable arrival experience. We are pleased that this new free amenity for nonticketed guests has been successful thus far.”

Many Wingmate Guest Pass holders have been exceptionally pleased with the program, especially during the holiday season. Travelers and their loved ones were able to spend a little more time together whether it was arriving or departing, allowing guest to meet and/or walk their loved one all the way to their desired gate. “The Wingate Pass was invaluable. My spouse has cognitive difficulty which is exacerbated by anxiety and stress. To be able to accompany her and wait with her until she boarded was beyond helpful to us,” said one Wingmate Pass holder.

The Wingmate Pass can also be used for exclusive dining and shopping deals throughout the terminals. Approved, passholders can redeem food and shop deals by presenting their digital pass at checkout. You can find a list of participating stores by visiting visit.philamarketplace.com/wingmate/.

“In addition to meeting loved ones, we hope the public will use the Wingmate Guest Pass to access the airport’s restaurants and shops and enjoy PHL’s renowned Art Exhibitions Program,” said O’Connell.

Nonticketed guests interested in visiting PHL should complete an online application (accessible at phl.org/wingmate) one-to-seven days prior to their desired visit. Guests that applied in advance will receive an email after 12 am on the day of their visit with their application status. Those applying for same day entrance will receive an email within 15 minutes with their application status. If approved, guests will receive an email with a digital Wingmate Pass to be used for entry at PHL’s D/E or A-East security checkpoints.
