Global Philadelphia Association: Sustainable Development Goals Public Art Project

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. Seventeen fundamental goals have been identified. Collectively, they address the global challenges including those related to poverty; inequality; climate degradation; prosperity; and peace and justice.

Global Philadelphia Association has brought the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) campaign to Philadelphia – our World Heritage City. Global Philadelphia Association’s mission is to translate each SDG goal through commissioned artwork by renowned Philadelphia artists. Within the next two years, 17 neighborhood walls will be dancing in the light of an SDG goal. For every SDG artwork, a local Philadelphia non-profit organization will receive a donation – a $3,000 grant to an NGO active in the SDG space. Thus far, each of our sponsors have chosen an SDG goal that resonates with their global commitment to eradicate issues that exist right here in Philadelphia. This is a Philadelphia first. We are the only city engaged in such an awareness project globally.
