The eighth annual Professional Engineers Day was celebrated on August 2, however, with the new school year underway, the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation knows that professional development and potential careers are on the minds of many students. The airports' engineers want to share their experiences with high school and college students to help them better understand the path to becoming a professional engineer (PE).

American Airlines Adds Three New International Routes, Brings Back Domestic Destination at PHL: Nonstop Flights to Nice, Naples, Copenhagen and San Antonio Takeoff in Summer 2024

It’s never too early to plan next year’s summer vacation. Just announced destinations on American Airlines’ Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) summer 2024 roster will make passengers want to pack their bags now. 

American is adding three nonstop international routes to Nice, France (NCE); Naples, Italy (NAP); and Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) from PHL in summer 2024. This is the first time PHL passengers will be able to fly nonstop from Philadelphia to those European destinations.  

AIM Offers Aircraft Mechanics Certificate Opportunities at PNE Campus

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is training the future aviation maintenance workforce at its 14 campuses throughout the country, including a campus located at Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE).  The AIM Philadelphia campus specializes in training aircraft mechanics and offers two programs - Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) and Aviation Maintenance Technician: Avionics (AMTA).
